All of His Eggs in One Basket. But Not Really.

Sam enjoyed his first Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday!

"That thing got a hemi?" Talking about the latest in stroller technology with one of the guys, before the hunt begins.

On the hunt. Without his basket. Baskets are for sissies.

"Isn't there supposed to be something INSIDE these eggs? I was told there'd be real chickens."

"I totally just swiped this egg from that baby."

Sam is clutching as many eggs as he can, while his Dad tried to convince him to put them in the basket.

Still trying to figure out the concept of the basket.

"Thanks for not making me wear bunny ears, Mom!"

Apple

This is the first in a series of compelling documentaries in which Sam will be featured saying the various words he knows. We start with ... "Apple." I plan to submit these to Sundance.

Actually, all this video really illustrates is that I will be a terrible stage mom!

Stay tuned for the next installment in our series ... "Ball."

Why Having a Toddler is Like Being at a Frat Party

I just saw this list at the Suburban Snapshots Blog and thought it was too cute not to share!

My favorite:
8. It's best not to assume that the person closest to you has any control over their digestive function.

A lot of it also applies to having pets. Especially:
6. Probably 80% of the stains on the furniture contain DNA.

I could add some of my own:
  • There is usually someone running around naked (not naming any names).
  • There is a lot of loud (bad) music and (worse) dancing.
  • At any given time someone is using poor judgment.
  • Toilet paper everywhere!
  • Poor personal hygiene.
  • Screaming!
  • Crazy hats! (that was just one party I remember, in particular....)
  • The drooling....

Verbose

Sam has a few more words in his vocabulary.

A sampling:

Sit

Moo (what he calls a cow)

Thank you

Bite

More

Applesauce

When he speaks he always sounds like he has a vaguely foreign accent. "Sit" sounds like "Zzzt." "Moo" sounds very French, something like, "Mmmmmuh." "Thank you" really isn't recognizable to anyone but me and may just be wishful thinking. "Applesauce" is hilarious, and I really need to get it on video. It's something like "Ap-luh-sh." And he has started saying "Mommy" a lot, but in a very British way, pronounced "Mummy," with the emphasis on the first syllable. As in, "Mummy, do be a dear and remove me from this dreadful crib and give me some warm milk, won't you?" I think he's been watching too many Family Guy reruns.
