The Peanut Doesn't Fall Far From the Tree

And, yes, I know peanuts don't grow on trees. Here's a little then and now action. The funny thing is that I witnessed Sam trying to stuff the tissues back in the box, and I bet Bruce did the same thing back in the day. I've got a tidy crew. After all, tissues, like peanuts, don't grow on trees.

Play Date

Sam and BestFriendPete got together outside of school. Party on the playground! They were super excited to see each other and ran themselves ragged while three adults tried (sometimes unsuccessfully) to keep up with them and make sure they didn't fling themselves off a teeter totter. Luckily, it would seem teeter totters are not in vogue on today's playground, but they found plenty of other fun items from which to fling themselves. Fun fact: Sam and Pete were born within a day of each other at the same hospital, so we like to think of them exchanging greetings in the nursery. They go waaaay back.

Hi friend. Shall we fling ourselves from this jungle gym?

P1000681
Yes, we shall. Commence the flinging!

P1000679
I think Sam may be Pete's sidekick. I wish it were different, but I'm pretty sure Sam is the Robin to Pete's Batman.

P1000676
Pete says sometimes his sidekick gets on his nerves.

P1000682
Pete was first to cross the bridge, but Sam followed quickly and started jumping up and down to make it extra exciting.

P1000684
When you're this cute, you don't have to follow slide etiquette.

P1000687
No girls allowed, Mama!

P1000696
Hey, Pete, come give me a leg up!

P1000701
OK, you climb up first, and I'll catch you.

P1000691
Where's my Sherpa?

Fashion Show!

Check out Sam modeling the latest spring fashions!

P1000668
So, um, yeah, those are shorts, not pants. Looks like size 2T might not fit him until kindergarten. I'm just not thinking the urban youth look is working on him.

P1000669
I don't care what he thinks. I love this shirt.

P1000672
Horizontal stripes are thinning, yes?

Bookworm

Sam's really been hitting the books lately.

P1000661
At snacktime.

P1000659
At the breakfast bar.

P1000650
At bedtime.
(Um, yeah, about the hairdryer ... Sam enjoys a warm, dry derriere while he reads about numbers. Don't judge.)

Sam. With colander.

Can you remember the last time you had this much fun at 6 a.m.? With a colander?

Nana!

A couple of weeks back, Sam's Nana came for a visit. Actually, to be clear, Sam doesn't yet call her Nana. We thought "Nana" would be a good name for his Grandmother Warrington, since it is one of the few words he already knows. We quickly discovered, however, that any references to "Nana" better result in an immediate helping of his favorite yellow fruit. But we're working on it.

P1000628
Did somebody say "Nana?"

P1000630
Sam performs for his Nana.

P1000633
Three generations of Warringtons, gathered around the keytar.
