The name of your first born son is sacred - his every encounter with the world will be shaped by that first question, "What's your name?" Every time he greets someone he will be announcing himself with his name.
That's why we aren't sure what to call this one. But, upon seeing him at 7 weeks we noticed a passing resemblance between him and a few of our favorite things. Allison thought he looked like a bean. I thought he looked like a peanut. Peanut has stuck.
Now we hope, before the little guy is born, we can actually come up with a name that won't embarrass him. And that we haven't stuck him with a nickname that he can never shake.
Look to your ancestry for names. We had friends recently who chose the name, Cashel, for their son. This is a Gaelic name meaning stone or the rock. They are both very Irish Catholic, and therefore chose something strong from their heritage.
ReplyDeleteHowever, as I've told your baby Momma, Cooper is still my favorite :)
